Hi, everyone! How are you today? I hope you found some ways to enjoy the holidays this year even when it’s a bit different from the previous years! 2020 has been a very stressful year for us and to cope with all the anxiety this year has brought me, I have turned and relied on my books more than ever. Books have been one of the reasons that I stayed sane through all that has happened. With that being said, 2020 have been a great reading year for me as I managed to do a lot of reading. 2020 Favorite Reads

We only have a few days left before the year ends and I don’t think I’ll be able to finish another book by then because I’m going to be helping my mom prepare food for Noche Buena and Media Noche! We’ll be making my favorite macaroni salad and mashed potatoes which I am really looking forward to. Haha

I’ll still be doing a lot of reading, of course! I just don’t want to pressure myself with finishing another book before the year ends. Besides, I’ve already read 13 books past my Goodreads challenge! Anyway, so before we welcome another year, I’d like to share with you my 2020 favorites reads:

Books I Wish I Read in 2020

This year is one of the best reading years for me and the entirety of 2020 was spent catching up on series and releases that I have not been able to read the past couple of years. It’s also the year where I bought so many books as I wanted to support my local bookstores during the pandemic. I’ve bought a lot of books that have been sitting on my Goodreads want-to-read shelf for years now, and I am so happy about it. Now, I just need more time to read all of them.

There are also books sitting on my physical shelves for years and still haven’t gotten to them because ever since I started working six years ago, I didn’t have a lot of time reading except for those years where I feel really lost and turn all my attention into reading. Best Books of 2020 So Far

Hi, everyone! I hope you are all doing okay and you are all able to cope up with the events happening worldwide recently. It’s been a tough year, generally speaking, but to get my mind off all the cruel things happening around us, I turned to my books for solace. Just like what I used to do when I was kid and so 2020 instantly became a great reading year for me so far. My Goodreads goal is to read 30 books this year and I’ve already read 22 books (so I will probably adjust my reading challenge to 40 or 50).

This “tag” is an annual bookish thing that has been going on around the bookish community which, to be honest, I haven’t done in a while. Since I did read a lot of books so far this year, I decided to do it again. Wow, I can’t even remember the last time I did this (and I can’t even remember if that particular post still exists in my blog since I migrated to WordPress from Tumblr just last year).

My 2020 Anticipated Books

Today, I will list my top 10 most anticipated books for the year 2020! And, yes, maybe this post is (again) a little too late because we are already four months into 2020. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I have more time to write and work on some blog posts (and read books) these days because of the lockdown. So I’m using the time I have to do posts I didn’t have to time to work on a couple of months back.

Since I recently moved here from Tumblr, I decided to launch a new series as an opening entry in WordPress. I’m never really good at introductions, may it be in print or in person, so let me just start with this:

I was at a local secondhand bookshop one Sunday morning with my cousin and while we were browsing through the shelves, I came across this book by Nick Hornby which gave me an amazing idea for my blog: A new series. It’s been a while since I last introduced a new series here, and I haven’t really been consistent either. So, I hope this one works.

Book Review: Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley

Another YA Contemporary Romance I’ve read is Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley and I swear I just digested the whole book in one sitting, it’s that adorable!

Here, we follow Rachel Sweetie and Henry Jones, who have been bestfriends for years and have been inseparable since they first met. Rachel has been secretly in love with him, but Henry has his eyes on Amy. Before Rachel leaves for Sea Ridge, she left a Henry a letter declaring her love inside one of Henry’s favorite books in the Letter Library, a section Henry’s family’s secondhand bookshop.

This book just gave me all the feels and I just can’t explain how much I loved it. I can drink up all the words Cath Crowley has written in this one. Her writing is astoundingly adorable which made this book so freaking endearing. The humor and the “drama” is balanced.

I just love books that talk about books. I’ve jotted down so many titles that were mentioned in this book that I wanted to read soon. I like how it also taught us that we should never let go of the things we love, even when it gets hard, especially when it gets hard. I loved, loved, loved this book to bits and I recommend it to everyone. Just read it!
