Would you share your New Year’s resolution with a stranger?

When Carrie and Andy attend a high-class New Year’s Eve Party, they’re looking forward to closing out the year in style. But then they meet Martin and Michaela, a couple who haven’t just come out for champagne and fireworks. They have a New Year’s resolution, and it’s very unusual.

After sharing their own resolutions, Carrie and Andy receive a shocking but tempting offer, one that leaves them unsure of how to proceed. But whatever they decide to do, one thing is certain – this will be a New Year’s Eve they will never forget.

Personal Thoughts:

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

In this short story, we follow a couple who spent NYE at a fancy and elegant hotel where they meet two other couples and make friends — at least for the evening. During dinner, they share each of their resolutions which exposes each person’s dreams and desires.

This is another book that I picked up in a whim not knowing what it’s about just because I saw it being recommended by other book club members. To be perfectly honest, this was just an okay read for me. I think it’s one of those stories that I’ll eventually forget soon after reading it.

Some parts were quite predictable, but I did enjoy it quite a bit. But as I’ve mentioned, it’s not something that will stick with me. I did like the ending though, it serves those two characters right for doing what they did. Iykyk.

I recommend this if you’re looking for some short reads. It’s also perfect to read at the start of the year (duh). I still look forward to reading this author’s other works.
