#SupportAAPIVoices

Hi, everyone! I’ve been MIA again for quite some time there. It’s just that this pandemic and the current situation of my country has been taking a toll on my mental health. I’ve also been busy with other personal things, I guess. Another thing that has been bothering me lately is the sudden rise of hate crimes against the AAPI community recently, and I just can’t sit around in silence knowing that people have died while others are terrified and feeling unsafe in a world that we are all supposed to be sharing. Most especially during this pandemic, no one deserves to feel even more scared than we already are.

With what has been going on against the AAPI community, I sifted through my shelves for books written by AAPI authors to read and these are what I found:

I haven’t been buying books lately and I still don’t intend to until I read half of the unread books in my physical TBR, but with everything that has been happening, I plan to focus more on reading AAPI voices. I checked my Goodreads shelves and noticed that I haven’t been reading as much books by AAPI authors as I’d like which brings me back to my 2021 reading resolutions — one of my goals for 2021 is to read more diverse novels, so this is also the perfect time to start with AAPI voices.

This is only part one of the #SupportAAPIVoices section here on my blog. There are more AAPI books in my shelves, and I am so excited to read all of them. Hopefully, I get back on my reading mood so that I can read a lot of these books in the next couple of weeks or so. I will also try to review them here as much as I can (try being the operative word).

Also, since this is my first time posting here in a while, I would like to mention that I am not going to post monthly TBRs anymore as I keep on failing at reading the books that I plan to read each month and it has been frustrating me for quite some time. So moving forward, I’ll be reading books depending on my mood.
