Hi, everyone! Another month, another wrap up. So how have you guys been? February have been a really busy month for me! There were only 28 days, yet I feel like so many things have happened. With that, I didn’t really have a lot of reading time. I did manage to finish my audiobook for the month which is In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado.

One of my reading goals this year is to read more non-fiction and just last year, I discovered that I am really fond of memoirs as it gives us a literary view of what other people go through or have gone through in their life. So I have been listing down titles that catch my interest and In the Dream House is one of those. I learned about it when Gabby talked about it on her YouTube channel. It’s a memoir about the author’s abusive queer relationship. What I like most about memoirs is that I get to see a glimpse of what other people feel about things — what makes them cry, what disappoints them, what makes them happy. And most of the time, I feel like I’ve been with them through their journey and it makes their story all the more interesting and powerful. I rated In the Dream House a 4 out of 5 stars.

Another book that I got to finish reading in February is The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang which was my Valentine’s Day read. It took me a while to finish it, though, because I’ve been on a trip with my boyfriend and I had to get a lot of my tasks done preceding our mini vacation. But all I can say is The Kiss Quotient was an absolute delight! It’s a very light read and I could have probably finished it in a day or two if I wasn’t so busy. I loved how strong Stella’s personality is and that the story didn’t actually have any bullies with regard to her condition. The story revolved around that fact that she wanted to overcome her issues the same way Michael does. I enjoyed every chapter of this book and I rated it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I’m currently reading The Guest List by Lucy Foley and I honestly haven’t progressed with it yet as I’ve been having the blues lately. So far, the first few chapters were intriguing. I just need to get my reading rhythm back. I’m also listening to the audiobook of Between the World and Me by Ta Nehisi Coates which is another memoir that focuses more on politics and race. It’s narrated by the author himself and I am loving it. Will talk more about it on my March wrap-up!
