Hi, everyone! ♡ It’s time for me to share with you, guys, the books I’ve read, enjoyed, and disliked throughout the month. In September, I was only able to read one chunk of a novel, one poetry book, and two manga. In October, I was able to get to two novels! As you all know, I still set a reading plan for myself last month to practice disciplining myself when it comes to reading and for me to get through the series that I have long started but not finished. October was an exception, though, because I had to read a couple of spooky books for Halloween so my priorities were to get through those atmospheric, fall-related books.

To start off, I finally finished reading The Poppy War during the first week of October and I’m not sure if I should read the second book in November or wait for the third book in the series so I can binge-read them then. I absolutely adored The Poppy War and honestly couldn’t shut up about it. I even wrote something about it on our Writer’s Block page in Notion for work, I mean, it deserves all the hype! This is obviously my favorite read of the month.

The next book that I’ve read was Wilder Girls which I wrote a review about, so please check that out if you’re interested to read a detailed version of what I think! But for my wrap-up, all I can say is that I really enjoyed this book. It kind of dragged a bit in the first half, but it was worth it. I really liked the premise and it thrill kept me up at night!

I also read Pumpkinheads which have been on my TBR for a very long time now! I was listening to Ariel and Raeleen’s podcast and Ariel talked about this a lot so I decided to finally pick it up. I’m also planning to write a review for this, but, so far, all you have to know is that this book is so cute and will definitely put you in the fall mood!

The last book I read was Kaguya-sama: Love is War Vol. 3. I really love reading about Shinomiya and Shirogane’s banters and “love war,” I can’t imagine how this manga will end. Haha They are really so cute, but Fujiwara is still my favorite character.

As for the books that I acquired, I was on a book-buying ban in October but I got a job promotion and decided to break my ban to reward myself with books. Most of the books that I bought were books that have been long in my Wishlist. I think I bought a lot of thrillers! Also, I am so happy that I already have two books in the Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson! I am still looking for his other books in trade paperback version, specifically, Elantris, Warbreaker, Oathbringer, and Rythm of War. I also preordered two books that are on the my most anticipated books of the year list!

How about you? What have you been up to in October? How many books have you read? What were you favorite purchases (it’s okay if it’s not books)? Let me know in the comments! ♡
