Another book mail that I received during the quarantine is the Septimus Heap series (minus the seventh book) by Angie Sage. My boyfriend bought it for me and sent it to me via Lalamove along with the other book orders that I had shipped at his place.
This series is very old and the first book was published in 2005, and I’ve read a lot of great things about it. It has also been compared to The Harry Potter series during that time because of the magic and wizardry in the books and that shook some arguments with the readers and fans, but I don’t actually mind as long as it’s entertaining.
Currently, I’m reading the first book in the series, Magyk. It has been a really good read for me so far. It’s such a light read even if it has 500+ pages as its intended readers are middle-grade. It kind of reminds me more of Percy Jackson and the Olympians than Harry Potter because of the kids’ adventures (or maybe it’s just because the last time that I’ve read Harry Potter was a very very long time already). Anyway, I still have a long way to go in this series but I am looking forward to all the adventures!
My boyfriend and I are still in search of the last book in the series, Fyre, since the person who sold us these books do not have a copy of it. As I’ve said, I still have a long way to go in this series so I have plenty of time to look for Fyre. When my boyfriend shipped out my books, he surprised me with Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Ultimate Guide! The book is so pretty and awesome, I absolutely loved it.
I have recently written my first series review and it’s a review on The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare which has a very special place in my bookish heart, so you might to check it out and tell me what you think.
Wow! Your boyfriend is so sweet!
