I honestly don’t know where to start. Maybe with the fact that I was only able to read as much books in just one month because of this Enhanced Community Quarantine implemented in the whole of Luzon? Yes, I’ll probably start there. I can’t really say that I’m glad that this quarantine transcribed, because this coronavirus pandemic really sucks (and you know it), but there’s really nothing else we can do. So I’m just making the most out of this by reading as much unread books from my shelf. I am a hopeless case when it comes to book hoarding, so I haven’t really read almost half of the books in my shelf. So in a way, all the book hoarding I did in the past will be put to good use during this time.

The first book I’ve finished for the month of March is The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. It was really an intense read. Up to this day, I still can’t believe that I am badly hooked with Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series. I always find myself at the edge of my seat and couldn’t stop turning the pages! If it weren’t for work, I could’ve finished it in a day or two. I already have a copy of The Lost Symbol, so I’ll probably get to that one of these days, too.

Before all this coronavirus pandemic started, my brother and his girlfriend went to Megamall to watch a movie and he came home with a copy of Batman: Nightwalker, The Graphic Novel by Stuart Moore (novel by Marie Lu). We are both fans of comics and graphic novels (especially of DC and Marvel), so I immediately borrowed it and read it in just one sitting, of course. As all of you may have noticed, comic books and graphic novels are light and fast reads and this was quite a twist in Batman’s story, though this is not part of the canon, I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

Another book that I have read during this quarantine period is You by Caroline Kepnes which I only read in two days. All I can say about this book that it’s so freaking sick! I love the Netflix series, but the book was way more intense given that there were scenes in the book that were cut from the Netflix adaptation. So for everyone who has only watched the Netflix series and is thinking if it’s still worth it to pick up the book, it definitely is!

The last book that I was able to finish was Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I felt like I really needed a light read after reading The Da Vinci Code and You which are both intense in absolutely different ways. Anyway, I devoured this book and it was just easy to read. I can totally relate to Anna at some point and that’s what kept me turning the pages because I badly wanted Anna and Étienne to just talk things over and end up together.

As for the books that I bought, I’ve heard so many good things about The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin and I am so happy that I stumbled across a copy of it at one of my local thrift bookshops. Also, one of my workmates was selling some of her books so she could buy new books, so that’s where I got my copy of The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas. I’ve read a few blurb and reviews about it and almost all of them said that it’s similar to Riverdale and I’m a big fan of the said Netflix series, so I’m really pumped to start reading The Cheerleaders as well.

Right now, I’m currently reading City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. I finally had the courage to pick it up and finish this series once and for all so that I can dive right into Infernal Devices. What really made me decide to pick up the book from my shelves is one of Regan’s (PeruseProject) videos about the books the intimidate her. Though this book is intimidating because it’s so thick, the main reason why I haven’t picked it up all these years is the fact that I didn’t want to end Clary and Jace’s story. Look where that brought me.
