Hi, everyone! So again, just like in June, I received and bought A LOT of books (haha I know, I need to stop buying and start reading more). Let me explain, most of the books that I bought were books that I’ve been looking for since forever and were finally available for sale (most of them for steal prices), so how can a bookworm resist that?
Here are photos that I took of my July books, which are also posted on my Instagram account.
So enough with all the explaining and defending and let’s start with the discussion. The first book that I’ve read in July was one of the books that have been sitting on my shelf for years now, and it’s Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. This book is so sick that it kept me up at night not only turning pages but also because the characters were so creepy. I also sometimes dream about some of them, especially the murdered girls. Anyway, I wrote a review about it, so if you’re interested and want to know more about what I think, click here.
The next books that I was able to squeeze in this month are some manga and graphic novels. I wasn’t really productive with my reading this month, that’s why I promised myself to make it up in August because the last thing I need during this quarantine is to fall into a reading slump. I’ve read volume two of Kaguya-sama: Love is War by Aka Akasaka and really enjoyed it. I really really really love Chika, I know I mentioned this so many times in my previous posts but I just can’t help it. She’s too adorable! I’m currently reading Kaguya-sama: Love is War Vol. 3, that’s why it’s included in the photo.
The next two books were e-ARCs that I received via NetGalley! It’s My Riot by Rick Spears and Beauty and the Beast: The Graphic Novel by Jessica Gunderson. I loved them both, especially My Riot because it just spoke to my teenage self. I’m going to write a review about it, so also watch out for that.
I’m currently reading Flyte (Septimus Heap, #2) by Angie Sage and I am totally enjoying this series. I love the adventures and the world-saving and I absolutely adore Septimus! Hoping to finish this book in August as it is also part of my Tome Topple TBR.
How about you? What books were you able to finish reading in July?
the beauty and the beast graphic novel sounds so cool!! I sadly didn’t get to many books this July, but I’m currently reading Norwegian Wood which is a wonderful book so far!
