Author Feature #1: Rick Riordan

Hi, everyone! I’m thrilled to announce a new feature on my blog called Author Feature where I give my favorite authors the spotlight that they deserve. Today I’m going to feature Rick Riordan because as you all know by now, I cannot stop raving about his books and through the years, he has become my most favorite middle-grade author. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series not only got me out of a very long reading slump, but also helped me get through one of the darkest days of my life. Aside from that, these books are very special to me and my husband’s relationship as these books were one of the cornerstones of how we started as a couple. Books truly have a way of making my heart melt. So that’s the quick explanation of why his books have a very special place in my heart and in my life.

I am currently in the process of catching up with the Percy Jackson world by reading the Trials of Apollo series. I’ve finished the first book, Hidden Oracle, last month and really enjoyed it. I am very excited to continue on with the series and find out how Apollo’s adventure would end. I am also, of course, looking forward to more books in this saga. Hopefully, Rick writes more because I just couldn’t get enough (and I know I’m not the only one).

And as you may have noticed, there exists a ‘Rick Riordan Presents’ which we can mostly see in a lot of mythology-based middle-grade novels that of which are not written by Rick Riordan himself. So what is this exactly? Well, ‘Rick Riordan Presents’ is a small branch of the Disney-Hyperion Publishing that publishes books based on what Rick Riordan and his editor think would appeal to people who liked his novels. Basically, it’s Rick Riordan helping put the spotlight to authors from around the world who writes and shares their own culture and folklore. Exciting, right?

I personally think that this is a great help not only to the authors, but also to us readers to know and learn more about mythologies other than the famous ones that we are already familiar with. This is also thrilling as I have always enjoyed reading about the Greek gods and goddesses, and I would definitely love to venture out of them and discover new gods and goddesses to love and adore.

Some of the books at the top of my TBR from the Rick Riordan Presents are the following:

With that, to my Filipino readers, Fully Booked is selling some of these books and have compiled it in one page to also feature Rick Riordan, his books, and the Rick Riordan Presents books.
