Summer Getaway: Laiya, Batangas

My most favorite sport to do is swimming as I used to compete for swimming competitions in our school when I was in grade school, when I started having monthly periods, I withdrew from the swim class but that doesn’t mean I also let go of my love for the sport. I think that, like reading, it will always be a big part of my life and ever since I got married and have had the freedom to do whatever I want and go wherever I want, I’ve rekindled my love for swimming and, not only that, it has come back with an even stronger passion. Like most things, there are still a lot to learn. Despite competing in grade school, there are a lot of things I am still learning. For one, lap swimming in pools is different than swimming in the open water and I am so happy that I am able to do freediving classes with my husband. Currently, we are practicing our finning skills as we recently bought our own fins and I’m really glad with the progress I’ve made.

Anyhow, it’s the first time in a while that my family planned a weekend getaway at the beach. It’s quite a refreshing feeling that I got to spend time with them in a different environment and a different light. We did banana boat and snorkeling (which my husband and I love doing as it’s an opportunity to practice the basic skills and knowledge that we learned from our freediving class). Here are some of our family photos:

And some of my favorite photos that the husband took of me! Hihi

I also had the chance to practice using my new lens for my IG-worthy shots! Will share those photos in a different blog post as I’m planning on saving a space here on my website specifically for those kinds of photos. ♡
