Jiufen: A Spirited Stroll

Jiufen, Taiwan ~ I truly enjoyed the ambiance of this little mountain town. Now I completely understand why people always say that Jiufen gives off Studio Ghibli vibes—because it genuinely does! Wandering through its narrow, winding alleys felt like stepping into a whimsical, animated world. The red lanterns swaying in the breeze, the old tea houses perched on the hillside, and the mist rolling in from the mountains all create a dreamy, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

It’s easy to imagine characters like Chihiro from Spirited Away getting lost among the bustling food stalls or peeking into the hidden stairways that seem to lead you further into a secret world. Every corner feels like it holds a story, from the nostalgic shops selling traditional sweets to the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean in the distance.

Jiufen isn’t just a tourist spot—it’s a place that makes you feel like you’re wandering through a living, breathing piece of art. It’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave, like a beautiful scene you replay in your mind over and over again.
